Where are you?
A boat docked in a tiny Mexican village. An American tourist complimented the Mexican fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.
“Not very long,” answered the Mexican.
“But then, why didn’t you stay out longer and catch more?” asked the American.
The Mexican explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family.
The American asked, “But what do you do with the rest of your time?”
“I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs. I have a full life.”
The American interrupted, “I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat.”
“And after that?” asked the Mexican.
“With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City! From there you can direct your huge new enterprise.”
“How long would that take?” asked the Mexican.
“Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years,” replied the American.
“And after that?”
“Afterwards? Well my friend, that’s when it gets really interesting,” answered the American, laughing. “When your business gets really big, you can start buying and selling stocks and make millions!”
“Millions? Really? And after that?” asked the Mexican.
“After that you’ll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends.”
And the moral of this story is: ……… Know where you’re going in life… you may already be there.
La miche del jueves…
Schaltier… la miche del dìa de ayer.. estuvo muy buena… acompañada con clamato tiene un aire de playa… bueno.. dejenme sentirme así… como si estuviera en la playa…. fui el primero que llegue… junto con la Angela… y platicamos y disfrutamos ser los primeros porque hasta elegimos el lugar donde sentarnos, que en el salón grande, que arriba, que en la barra, que aquí frente a la tele….. finalmente llegamos al 2º piso dónde se puede fumar….eso sí… el ambiente muy agradable… parece limpio, el segundo piso con sillones, las bebidas las acompañamos con unos tacos de La Fragua… que tambien son ricos y llenadores… un cerro de comida en cada taco…
El lugar esta bien ambientado con pantallas de televisión, y sonido. En el segundo piso tiene sillones y esta más ventilado… por lo de la fumadera… El lugar es grande, le calculo como para 50 personas….Esta en Carranza casi llegando a la Glorieta Gonzalez Bocanegra…. creo que abre toda la semana hasta la 1am… nos salio a buen precio, aunque no tomamos mucho, de 2 miches y una cheve fueron $80 pesos….y 2 gringas y un taco otros $75 pesos….no teníamos mucha hambre, pero si fueramos a cenar… creo que serían como $200 pesos, por los dos cincluidas las propinas…. vayan esta rico… lo que más me gusta son los tacos de pastor naturales, con un trozo de piña…
La Cochera
Llegando de un rico almuerzo en La Cochera, ricos tacos, burritos y tortas. Este pequeño local de desayunos me abre el apetito… con sus ricos guisos de asado de boda o de barbacoa de cordero y el que probé el día de hoy de bisteck ranchero. Atendido por mi amigo César Torres (el todòlogo del lugar), es bueno levantarse y probar la buena comida en un ambiente tranquilo y en un sitio que te sientes muy cómodo, con un entorno en el que su poca decoración hace parecer como si estuvieras probando suculentos platillos en cualquier mercado de cualquier pequeño pueblo. Aunque con el servicio limitado a 4 mesas ó 16 comensales (eso si vienen de a 4), se puede hacer amistad y sentarse con el nuevo conocido. Bien vale la pena esperar y probar la comida.
La Cochera abre de martes a domingo de 9.30 a 15.30 hrs en Vistahermosa #395 casi esquina con Scop. Sirve tacos, tortas y burritos de asado de boda, cochinita pibil, chicharron, barbacoa de cordero, huevo, frijoles, bistec; también un rico consome de barbacoa, y los domingos rico menudo. No se necesita un gran presupuesto ya que la cuenta total de una persona ronda los 50 pesos. Tiene servicio de banquetes y su telefono es el 8138959 o el 8130681.
